R. Bruce Merrifield Award
We are happy that two prestigious distinctions from the fields of peptide chemistry have been awarded to our CIPSM researcher Horst Kessler. The R. Bruce Merrifield Award is the most prestigious award of the American Peptide Society. Presented at the biennial symposia of the American Peptide Society, it recognizes the lifetime achievement of a peptide scientist whose work exemplifies the highest level of scientific creativity. Out of 20 laureates, so far only four have been non-US-Americans, with Prof. Kessler being the first German recipient of this award. The Murray Goodman Endowed Lecture is held annually at the University of California, San Diego, in honor of Prof. Murray Goodman (✝ 2004), one of the most renowned peptide chemists. Prof. Kessler has been invited to hold this year’s lectureship, which makes him the first non-American to receive this honor.
